Endoscopic Procedures

The practice of Gastroenterology has been revolutionized by the development of the endoscope. With the use of digital video endoscopes we can now examine the entire intestinal tract. The most common procedures we perform are Colonoscopy and Upper Endoscopy (EGD). They are usually performed on an outpatient basis using the most up-to-date equipment. During the procedure the patient sleeps comfortably using an IV sedative, which has little if any after effects. The various procedures we perform are listed in the column on the left.
